One-Shot Ablation For PV Isolation.

چکیده
Atrial fibrillation ablation has evolved considerably over the last few years. In this article we review current and past catheter ablation techniques, with a special focus on new simplified systems that allow a faster and simpler procedure, so called "one-shot" atrial fibrillation ablation.

Cryoballoon ablation for atrial fibrillation
2014 Pulmonary vein (PV) isolation is the cornerstone of ablation therapy for atrial fibrillation. The majority of procedures are still performed using radiofrequency (RF) energy and a point-by-point ablation approach. Novel ‘single shot’ ablation tools with the aim of creating a circumferential lesion around the PVs with a single or a limited number of energy applications emerge. The currently...
متن کاملWhat’s new in diagnosis and therapy of atrial fibrillation? New drugs, new ablation techniques and new devices
Management of atrial fibrillation (AF) regarding new diagnostic and therapeutic tools has constantly evolved over the last years. For paroxysmal AF, implantable loop recorders offer new options for better assessment of AF burden. For treatment, pulmonary vein (PV) isolation has evolved an accepted, effective treatment with ~75-85% of patients in stable sinus rhythm. Since the rate of major comp...

Radiofrequency catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF) is an effective rhythm control strategy, and its efficacy has been proved to be superior to anti-arrhythmic drugs.1-3) Recently, the European Society of Cardiology’s 2010 revised guidelines for AF management suggested catheter ablation as the firstline treatment in patients with paroxysmal lone AF.4) When Haissaguerre et al.5) initial...
متن کاملInitial experience and treatment of atrial fibrillation using a novel irrigated multielectrode catheter: Results from a prospective two-center study.
BACKGROUND PV electrical isolation has become the cornerstone of catheter ablation for the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AF). Several strategies have been proposed to achieve this goal. The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety of AF ablation using a new circular irrigated multielectrode ablation catheter designed to achieve single-delivery pulmonary vein (PV) isolation. ...
متن کاملAtrial fibrillation ablation: Limitations of pulmonary vein ablation catheter technology.
We read with interest the paper by Koźluk et al. [1], which brings several points about multi-electrode duty-cycled radiofrequency ablation: — The outcome in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) was lower when compared to 1and 5-year follow-up after single cryoballoon ablation procedure performed with higher follow-up regime (7and not 1-day Holter ECG) [2]. Most triggers originate ...
